In September 2011, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) issued Accounting Standards Update No. 2011-09, which revised the accounting disclosures required of employers participating in multiemployer pension plans.
The purpose of this page is to assist employers contributing to the AFTRA Retirement Fund (the “Plan”) by providing certain information about the Fund that may be necessary for your company to comply with the new FASB reporting requirements.

The Plan was certified to be in the Pension Protection Act “Green Zone” (neither critical nor endangered) for the Plan Years beginning December 1, 2011, December 1, 2012 and December 1, 2013. The most recently certified zone status relates to the Plan Year ending as of November 30, 2014. Accordingly, no funding improvement plan or rehabilitation plan (as those terms are defined in the Pension Protection Act and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974) has been implemented or is pending. In its Form 5500 reporting for the Plan Year ended November 30, 2013 and the Plan Year ended November 30, 2012, the Plan listed ABC, NBC and CBS Broadcasting, Inc. as having contributed more than 5% of the Plan’s total contributions. Further, for the Plan Year ended November 30, 2011, the Plan also listed ABC and CBS Broadcasting, Inc. as having contributed more than 5% of the Plan’s total contributions. The total contributions to the Plan were $131,333,394 for the Plan Year ended November 30, 2013, $92,102,272 for the Plan Year ended November 30, 2012 and $84,649,491 for the Plan Year ended November 30, 2011.
